Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Aldwych
Man with Van Aldwych is committed to conducting its business in a manner that respects human rights and upholds the highest ethical standards. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out our approach to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. It applies to all staff, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers engaged by Man with Van Aldwych.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
We maintain a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, bonded labour, child labour, servitude, and human trafficking. We will not knowingly engage with or support any organisation involved in such practices. Any breach or suspected breach of this policy is treated seriously and may result in termination of contracts or working relationships, and, where appropriate, notification to relevant authorities.
All individuals associated with Man with Van Aldwych are expected to act with integrity and to support our efforts to identify, prevent, and address any risk of modern slavery. We clearly communicate this stance to our staff and suppliers and expect them to share our commitment.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Man with Van Aldwych provides transport, removals, and associated services to customers in and around Aldwych. Our supply chains include vehicle leasing and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packaging suppliers, and a range of outsourced service providers, including cleaning, waste management, and certain administrative services.
We recognise that some parts of the transport and logistics sector, particularly where labour is sub-contracted or sourced through agencies, can present elevated risks of modern slavery. We therefore focus particular attention on those areas when assessing and monitoring suppliers.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
Before entering into or renewing contracts, we undertake proportionate due diligence on key suppliers to assess their ability and willingness to comply with our modern slavery requirements. This may include reviewing relevant policies, obtaining written confirmations of compliance with applicable modern slavery and human rights legislation, and evaluating their own supplier management processes.
We reserve the right to audit suppliers, particularly those providing labour-intensive services, to verify compliance. These audits may be conducted directly by Man with Van Aldwych or by independent third parties engaged by us. Where concerns are identified, we will seek corrective actions with clear timelines. If a supplier is unwilling or unable to implement adequate corrective measures, we will consider suspending or ending the relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
We encourage all employees, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers to report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery, whether within our business or in our supply chains. Concerns can be raised through internal reporting channels, including line managers or designated senior managers, who are responsible for escalating and investigating reports promptly and sensitively.
We will not tolerate any form of retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith. All reports will be treated confidentially to the extent possible, and we will take appropriate action following any investigation, which may include engaging with law enforcement or regulatory bodies where necessary.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to promoting awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff, particularly those involved in procurement, supplier management, and operations. Training and guidance are provided to help staff recognise indicators of modern slavery, understand how to respond to concerns, and apply our policies in practice.
We also encourage open dialogue with suppliers about ethical labour practices and expect them to cascade similar standards to their own employees and subcontractors.
Monitoring, Review, and Continuous Improvement
We are committed to continually improving our approach to identifying and managing modern slavery risks. We monitor the effectiveness of our measures through ongoing supplier engagement, incident reporting, and periodic reviews of our policies and procedures.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed annually by the senior management of Man with Van Aldwych to ensure it remains relevant, effective, and aligned with legal requirements and best practice. Where necessary, we will update our processes and controls to address emerging risks or gaps identified through audits, investigations, or stakeholder feedback.
This statement reflects the commitment of Man with Van Aldwych to act ethically and with integrity in all business dealings and to implement effective systems and controls to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains.
